Heritage Craft Workshops for Local Mums

This May saw the completion of a four-week heritage craft workshop programme for local rural mums at the Courthouse. We were delighted to partner with SureStart, who provided a crèche facility, allowing mums from the Ballycastle and Bushmills areas to attend and enjoy the sessions.

Each week introduced participants to a different heritage craft. The programme began with needle felting, where mums created beautiful nursery decorations, followed by an acrylic painting workshop where everyone produced their own unique artwork.

In week three, macramé artist Samantha from Toma guided the group in creating stunning macramé star wall hangings. The final week focused on sewing skills, with participants stitching and embellishing personalised tote bags — perfect for carrying everyday baby essentials.

The workshops were enjoyed by all and provided a wonderful opportunity for creativity, learning new skills, and connecting with others in the community.
