Candle Making with Ballybogey Over 50’s Group
Lighting Up Creativity and Connection Through Candle-Making
Over the past few weeks, participants have been enjoying a wonderful series of candle-making workshops led by Gina Thompson of Causeway Aromatics. The sessions brought together people from across the community to learn new skills, express their creativity, and enjoy spending time together in a welcoming and supportive environment.
The workshops embraced the theme of "Lighting Up Creativity and Connection," encouraging participants to explore the art of candle-making while building confidence and making new connections along the way.
Throughout the programme, attendees learned about the candle-making process, from selecting fragrances and materials to understanding how different products are created. Under Gina's expert guidance, participants had the opportunity to make their own handcrafted candles, tealights and diffusers, each adding their own personal touch to their creations.
The sessions were filled with creativity, laughter and conversation, creating a relaxed atmosphere where everyone could learn at their own pace. Whether participants were complete beginners or simply looking to try something new, the workshops offered a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all involved.
One of the highlights of the programme was seeing the pride participants took in their finished products. Not only did they leave with beautiful handmade items to enjoy at home, but they also gained valuable new skills and the confidence that comes from creating something unique with their own hands. The wonderful scents that filled the room throughout the workshops were an added bonus!
These workshops demonstrate the positive impact that creative activities can have in bringing people together, supporting wellbeing, and strengthening community connections.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Gina Thompson of Causeway Aromatics for sharing her expertise and enthusiasm throughout the programme.
