Discover the Creative Connections That Made July Unforgettable
July was a month packed with colourful creativity, new experiences and opportunities for people of all ages to come together through our programme of community workshops. From traditional crafts to children's summer activities, each session encouraged participants to explore their creativity, learn something new and enjoy spending time with others.
We kicked off the month with our Macramé Drop-in Workshop, where participants discovered a range of knotting techniques while creating their own handmade keyrings. The workshop provided a relaxed and friendly environment for both beginners and returning crafters to develop new skills and enjoy the satisfaction of making something completely unique.
Our creative programme also welcomed volunteers from the Save the Children Charity Shop for a Felted Landscapes Workshop. Guided through the needle-felting process, participants transformed colourful fibres into beautiful landscape scenes, with every artwork reflecting individual creativity and imagination. The workshop offered a wonderful opportunity for volunteers to unwind, connect and celebrate their creativity together.
With the arrival of the summer holidays, our children's workshops brought even more excitement to the Courthouse. Our Bracelet and Badge Making Summer Fun Workshop saw young participants designing colourful beaded bracelets and personalised paper badges, with plenty of laughter, creativity and proud smiles throughout the day. It was fantastic to see children enjoying the chance to express themselves while creating handmade keepsakes to take home.
Later in the month, children returned for our T-Shirt Decorating Workshop, where plain white T-shirts became vibrant works of art. Using a variety of colours, patterns and creative designs, participants personalised their shirts and embraced the opportunity to let their imaginations run free. Every finished T-shirt was completely unique, making the workshop a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved.
One of the most rewarding aspects of July's programme was seeing the confidence and enthusiasm that grew throughout each workshop. Whether participants were trying a craft for the first time or building on existing skills, every session provided a welcoming space to be creative, meet new people and enjoy learning together.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us throughout the month, along with our workshop facilitators and community groups whose enthusiasm helped make every session such a success.
